   In February of 1981, I had a two weeks leave from IRRI in the Philippines to my home town, Okazaki, Japan, to hold a wedding ceremony with my wife. The wedding was held on February 11, and on February 17 I came back to IRRI with my wife.

Photos during my stay in Germany as a post-doctoral fellow at the soil science institute in the University of Hamburg.

   From July 1983 to October 1984, I experienced a post doctoral study at the University of Hamburg under the guidance of Prof. Hans Wilhelm Scharpenseel. My research subject was the determination of soil age of the different size fractions in Chernozem soils. In the first 4 months, I stayed in Bremen to attend a German language course at the Goethe Institute, and started the research at Hamburg University from November 1983.

   These photos were taken in 1984, when my daughter was 2 years old and my first son was just born. In December of 1984, I started to work at the Soil Science laboratory of Nagoya University as an assistant professor.   帰国後は温室効果ガス(主にメタン)の農地からの放出． 　
  最近は水源確保によりイネ麦体系が導入されたインドで，稲わらを焼却することによる煙害研究している．また，羊羹も作っている農大の教授として頑張っている．

   IRRI同窓会の自由行動時間（10月9日午後）に伊藤さんご夫妻の車に乗せて頂き、支笏湖方面に行きました。支笏湖の北にある小さなせきとめ湖「オコタンペ湖」も見ました。長年北海道に住んでいながら支笏湖を見るのは初めてでした。まだ見ていないところはたくさんあります。同行者は伊藤さんご夫妻、塩谷さん、斎藤さんと私の５名でした。
